Our Mission

A note from the founder.

We spend four years here analyzing what has already happened. We write papers, solve problem sets, and memorize history. Then we file the work away and start the next term.

I believe university should be about what might happen.

I found the name "Such As" in a literature class. Aristotle wrote that while history is about facts, poetry is about "things such as might happen." He argued that possibility is where real potential lives.

I saw that potential firsthand in high school when I developed Hold, a charitable giving platform. That project proved to me that good work finds its own success regardless of what degree you have not finished yet.

But that kind of work is hard to do alone. It happens when a coder helps a writer with a portfolio site, or when roommates from different faculties solve a campus problem together.

I built Such As to be the home for that possibility. It is a quiet place to find your team and build a body of work that outlasts your degree.

Good ideas need company. Let's make things together.

Best,

Gopal.
